Wanted - Translators
Verfasst von Angelika Ritthaler am 13. Juni 2008 - 10:05.
Our intention with this website is to spread Joomla! all over the world. Therefore we provide parts of the content of Hagen's book for free.
Sometimes people ask whether it is possible to translate the book into their languages.
YES - you are welcome to do so:
- You can translate the chapters of this book in any language. Please upload your translation to this website so all Joomla! users can see the worldwide interest in the book. Please indicate what lanuguage it is.
- At the moment, the German and French Joomla! 1.5 books are available online for free.
- It is only allowed to publish the translated content at these websites (http://joomla.cocoate.com, http://joomla.addison-wesley.de). In case you are planning a commerical use of our content please get in touch with Angelika, the Foreign Rights Mangaer at Pearson Education Germay.
- As a motivation for you, I will insert a coloured box with your Name (Photo) and a link (logo) to your website on every webpage you translate.
- If the complete book is translated and the German publisher (Pearson Education Germany) finds a publisher for printing a real book of it, you will earn money. It is not possible to say how much you will earn. It depends on many things, but be sure you will not get rich by that :-) (no red Ferrari cars). You will be the person which makes it easier for people in your country to understand and use Joomla! And that will be surely good for your further projects and your work.
Practical things:
- If you want to translate, please contact me via the contact form.
- Please translate the table of content at first and send it to me via email.
- After that I will install your language at the website and will create the book headlines/Chapters. I will create an account for you so that you are able to edit the content by your own in a Browser.
- All screenshots are stored on my Flickr account. If you have the screenshots, send them to me via email, ftp, whatever .. I will upload them to my account under the creative commons license. It is important to have the screenshots in the target language.
- You can edit the chapters ... Google will spider them immediately, people who speak your language will discover them ... and soon you will be
rich(probably a bit later :-) ) and famous - thats all :-)
Enjoy your translation
